Bananas are radioactive.

Brazil nuts, for example, are another food that's high in potassium-40, and they can contain up to 1,000 times more radiation than a banana. Other foods like potatoes, carrots, and even beer also contain small amounts of radiation.

So why are we talking about this? Well, for one, it's a fascinating reminder of just how complex and mysterious our world can be. But more than that, it's a great example of how science can help us understand and demystify the world around us.

And while the idea of radioactive bananas might sound scary at first, it's actually a great opportunity to learn more about radiation and how it affects our bodies. In fact, many scientists believe that low levels of radiation can actually be beneficial to our health, by stimulating our immune systems and helping our bodies to repair damaged cells.
